Alternique (aka Debra Frei) Alternique is just that ~ Altered & Unique. Known to the “normal” people of the world as Debra Frei, living on an old farmstead in the Ozark Mountains with her hubby, three 4-legged children and wildlife friends. Known by those who know her best as “Alternique”……A published artist and obsessive collector of doo-dads, found treasures, tid-bits, odds 'n ends. Expert Dumpster Diver, Trash Digger, Garage Sale Scavenger. Rumored to have opened a website to support her habit and save her marriage. Completely addicted to her first true love: Decoupage/Collage and Altered Books. Seriously afflicted with the altering and collaging fever associated with ALL Altered Art ~ Mixed Media ~ Collage & Decoupage ~ Assemblage ~ Art Dolls ~ ATC’s & ACEO’s ~ Postage Art ~ Spirit Houses & Shadowboxes ~ and anything else her mind’s eye envisions. “Excellent!........... Oooooh!.......... Perfect!” passersby hear her exclaim. (In the background her family hides and pretends not to know her as she picks through trash and other’s cast-offs!) We’ve heard her tell anyone who will listen, she “Plans to stay consumed with this type of art forever!”
